I did a colonoscopy and an endoscopy at Long Island Gastro office back in December 2025 and January 2026.
I went there because I felt a tumor behind my belly bottom and had some stomach issues.
When I woke up, after the 1st exam, I felt horrible pain in my belly and on my face, on the bone of jaw. I don't know what happen, but I didn't have this pain when I walked in.
They did a biopsy. I spent Christmas and new Years (over 10 days) like if there were fire and sores inside of my stomach. The pain was so sharp I could not hold my grandkids up during the holidays. Nobody could believe the pain I was feeling when I laid down or tried to stand up. I feel better now, but still the pain is there if I walk up a flight of a stair. I don’t know what happened during the biopsy. But I wish I had not done it.
I did a colonoscopy and they did a biopsy too. I just wanted to know what was inside of me. They could have showed me the issue and let me decide what to do. Wish they had showed me the images and asked If I want to make a biopsy or not. I would not do it.
I also had done a colonoscopy 2 years ago in Brazil at a private Clinic and felt nothing. They showed me the photos, gave me the photos and the report. Nothing wrong.
Unfortunately, the Long Island Gastro has not sent me the photos. I asked about 5 times already. I called them too. I sent them 2 emails. My own husband went there and asked for the photos, they promised to send it by email and didn’t send it yet.
My daughter called them and they didn’t send us the photo. I’m feeling upset to say the least.
I visited a doctor in Brazil on January 23rd. I’m doing a treatment for chronic pain, and I could not present the photos of my stomach and my intestine because LIGastro didn’t care enough to send the photos of the exam.
It’s my body and they are being negligent. I want to see the photos of what they said are there.
I explained I wanted it for my record and for me to follow up with someone I feel comfortable with because now I'm not going back there anymore.
I wanted to let a review because I do not want anyone to feel the pain I’m feeling inside my stomach. I told them about the pain, they didn't care.
Also, my intestine has been a mess since the exams. Instead of going to the bathroom once a day, now i have to go to the bathroom multiple times a day.
If I knew I would be this debilitated I would never ever have walked into the clinics.
I wanted to know why I’m in such pain after the biopsy, I wanted them to tell me what kind of cut was done inside of me that it hurts so much, or at least they should have given me the photos by the time I finished the exam, at least this is how all clinics do in Brazil, instead of causing such irritation and stress promising and not doing.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sideridis for nearly 15 years, he always takes the time to listen to you and works with you on your treatment plan. He is truly the best! He is one of the most caring doctors I’ve ever seen. I have recently had the pleasure of working with JoAnna one of the NPs in the office who is also knowledgeable, friendly and caring. I highly recommend this team for anyone in need of a gastro specialist.

Dr. Ashamalla is one of the kindest and most caring doctors I’ve ever had. He helped me through a very difficult time, both physically and emotionally. From the very beginning, he took the time to really listen to what I was going through and never made me feel rushed or unheard.
He consistently checked in on me, followed up on my progress, and worked with me to find the best ways to manage my symptoms, which were largely caused by stress. His calm, supportive approach made a huge difference in my care and recovery.

Dr. Sideridis has been a trusted and beloved part of our lives for many years. My wife, and I have been his patients for as long as I can remember, and the care he has given us has been nothing short of extraordinary.
